Solent Partners launches skills bootcamp to train up next generation of marine electricians

A free training programme is being made available to people with electrical or engineering backgrounds so they can break into the Solent’s thriving maritime industry.

The Marine Electrician Skills Bootcamp, organised by Solent Partners and delivered by British Maritime Training and Assessment (BMTA), offers a path to a career as a marine electrician.

It involves face-to-face and online learning, support with CV writing and interview techniques.

On completion, the bootcamp guarantees an interview with local employers.

It’s been devised alongside some of the region’s most successful maritime organisations, including Berthon, Sunseeker, Griffon Hoverwork, Wight Shipyard, Oyster Yachts and SEC Marine.
