NATS in Fareham has extended its contract for another five years to provide world-class air traffic controllers at Hong Kong International Airport.
Managed by Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK), the airport recently implemented a new three-runway system to facilitate 102 flights per hour and up to 120 million passenger trips.
Having partnered with NATS since 2018, the two will now work together until at least 2029.
Martin Rolfe, CEO of NATS, said: “The fact that the airport authority has continued to put their faith in NATS is testament to the incredibly strong relationship we’ve built and the results we’ve delivered so far.
“The scale of Hong Kong’s ambition and their embrace of technology is raising the bar for the industry, and we’re very proud to be playing a part in their ongoing success.”
Chapman Fong, deputy director in corporate development at AAHK, added: “Hong Kong International Airport has a longstanding reputation as one of the few airports in the world leading in both passenger and cargo service.
“With the three-runway operation, capacity will be significantly enhanced, actualising its status as the international aviation hub.”
