Southampton’s Grant Cameron has been made National Chair of family law membership group Resolution.
Grant is a Partner on the Trethowans family law team, and has been with Resolution since its days as the Solicitors Family Law Association in the early 1990s.
He has held various roles within the group, including Chair of the West Sussex region and subsequently a committee member for Hampshire. For the last three years Grant has served as National Vice Chair, having been elected to the National Committee around a decade ago.
As National Chair of Resolution he is set to oversee 39 regional groups with more than 6,500 professional members, including solicitors, legal executives, students, judges, barristers, experts and academics.
Grant said: “I am very much looking forward to embracing the challenges of this position, with a mixture of trepidation but also excitement.
“A very responsive recent members survey has identified key areas to focus on in the immediate future: cohabitation reform, greater recognition of the voice of the child, and early legal advice and direction to alternative forms of dispute resolution.
“I would encourage family justice professionals of all levels to consider joining Resolution – they provide a vital source of information, resources, contacts and support for anyone in the sector.”
