The second Winchester Sustainable Design Clinic will take place at Milner Hall on St Peter Street this November.
Hosted by 360 Integrated PR, the free event promises practical advice for landlords, developers, occupiers and employees.
“Each of us has an opportunity to make our buildings better for the environment, our health and our productivity,” said Philip Tutt-Leppard, partner at the Winchester agency.
No more so is that the case than for commercial property – the focus of this year’s clinic – which accounts for 70 per cent of all the UK’s carbon emissions from buildings.
Attendees will hear from five expert speakers on the evening.
Martin Andrews from B Corp architectural practice Stride Treglown will deliver a talk on sustainable building fabric design.
Doug Johnson from Mesh Energy will discuss energy choices, use and conservation.
Greg Norman from Graphenstone Paints is an expert on surface treatments and their impact on air quality and the environment.
And Winchester-based lighting designer James Poore from JPLD will share his thoughts on sustainable lighting design.
Richard Andrews from Kelda Showers in Chandler’s Ford will cap off the event with a discussion on water conservation.
A question and answer panel will follow the presentations, with Yellow Interiors providing a selection of sustainable interior design products.
The event takes place from 6.30pm on Thursday 21 November.
