Southampton-based David Podesta is among four staff across the Southern offices of property consultancy Vail Williams to earn a mid-year promotion.
Having joined the firm in 2024 as an associate and with more than 25 years’ experience in the property sector, David now steps up as head of development.
David’s background includes expertise in estate/asset management, lease advisory, disposals and acquisitions, facilities management, and most recently, residential development.
He’s worked extensively in residential development and previously served as an estate manager for a Russell Group university.
He specialises particularly in the purpose-build student accommodation sector – working on projects that have delivered in excess of 2,500 beds of student accommodation – and has an interest in the regeneration of urban brownfield sites.
David’s promotion comes alongside those of Charlie Nicholson and George O’Connor in Surrey and Matt Doe in the Thames Valley.
Matthew Samuel-Camps, managing partner of Vail Williams, said the promotions were thoroughly well deserved and recognised ongoing hard work and individual contributions to the firm.
“I firmly believe that Vail Williams is nothing without its people, and thus it’s very much incumbent upon us to develop and retain our top talent to provide the impetus to further grow the business across all sectors,” he added.
“These four promoted colleagues add significant value to our business, and we congratulate them for this career advancement.
“They’re part of a very talented, dedicated and hard-working team across all disciplines.”
The promotions come after Vail Williams celebrated its best-ever year, with revenues up five per cent at £18.3 million – including the single highest grossing quarter since its founding in 1988.
