Wightlink has appointed Katy Taylor to be its new Chief Executive Officer, taking effect from Monday, 19th August 2024.
Katy’s appointment follows the retirement of Keith Greenfield, who spent nine years at the helm of the Isle of Wight ferry company.
An experienced C-Suite executive, Katy is joining from Southern Water, where she has held the role of Chief Customer Officer since 2021.
Previously, she was Chief Customer and Strategy Officer at international bus and train operator Go-Ahead Group, which includes Isle of Wight bus company Southern Vectis.
“Having visited the Isle of Wight in my previous roles over the past 12 years, I am looking forward to spending more time on the Island, both for business and pleasure,” said Katy.
“I am delighted to be joining the Solent’s leading ferry operator as it transforms its business to meet future challenges, including decarbonising its ships and shore facilities to meet Net Zero Targets and building greater links with the local communities.”
Outgoing CEO Keith Greenfield said: “Over the last nine years, we have invested in our fleet and ports and brought in England’s first hybrid energy ferry Victoria of Wight. Most importantly, I was pleased that our customers recognised the progress we have made by voting Wightlink the Best UK Ferry Operator in 2023 at the British Travel Awards.
“It has been a privilege to lead the Wightlink team and I have enjoyed every minute. The company is in good shape for the future, and it is the right time for me to hand over to Katy to achieve even more in the years to come.”
