With Farnborough and Ohio representing the beating hearts of their respective nations’ aerospace sectors, it only made sense for the two to come together and talk business.
Representatives from Farnborough Aerospace Consortium (FAC) jetted off to the Ohio Global Aerospace and Supplier Summit last week with an aim to forge new connections across the pond.
They were also given the opportunity to tour NASA’s Research Facility alongside Farnborough firm Materion.
With CEO Alan Fisher leading the way, the FAC mission was a great success as three UK firms have agreed plans to open in the US, while three American firms have shared their intentions to establish operations in Britain.

Slated either to touch down or expand their business in the UK are precision manufacturer Jergens Inc, software firm Lone Star Analysis, and food service equipment suppliers Duke Manufacturing.
Meanwhile, the British companies looking to expand into North America are research centre Blue Abyss, digital marketers Bloc-digital, and Farnborough-headquartered metal composites business TISICS.
The FAC team also held productive talks with Ohio law firm Gertsburg Licata, which helps UK companies make the jump across the Atlantic.
Alan said: “This was a hugely important summit that will lead to millions of pounds worth of business being generated.
“FAC exists to win business for members, and we were able to speak at the summit to representatives from major companies including Boeing, Airbus, Safran, Embraer, GE Aerospace and Parker.
“The work done on the visit will bring investment to the UK, particularly the Farnborough and wider Hampshire area, and will also create jobs.
“Britain is a world leader in aerospace, a sector that is now including more businesses looking to the potential of space travel.
“We must continue to grow our industry or risk losing our place at the top table.
“Part of this is to promote the excellent advances we are making in cleaner fuels, quieter, more efficient aircraft and new tech including drones.
“We also have superb businesses that work in the supply chains of the aerospace sector and should be proud of our achievements.”
