Padua Communications, a local content, marketing, and PR agency, has stepped up to coordinate the Royal British Legion’s (RBL) Poppy Appeal in Fordingbridge and the surrounding areas.

The agency’s Managing Director, Nicky Rudd, and Marketing Assistant, Hayley Burrows, will serve as volunteer Poppy Appeal Coordinators.

Padua Communications will be the primary contact for organisations wishing to order wreaths, and Nicky and Hayley will manage the distribution and collection of poppy tins and boxes leading up to Remembrance Day.

Nicky shared the motivation behind the agency’s involvement: “I saw a Facebook post asking for new coordinators after the previous contact stepped down.

“My grandad was a Royal Marine, and I knew he would have wanted me to help, so I reached out to the RBL. After some reference checks, Hayley and I got the green light. Hayley is also thrilled, as both her grandads served in the forces.”

The agency has already received details of recent orders from the previous coordinator and is placing new orders for this year’s appeal.

Nicky added: “We’re going through the information the RBL has provided and will be contacting the local community to take orders in person.

“We’d love to hear from businesses, organisations, churches, and associations that would like a collection tin and poppies so we can add them to our order—and hopefully boost donations.”

The deadline for placing an order for a collection tin or poppies is 24 September. Interested parties can contact Hayley via email at hayley@paduacommunications.com.

The Royal British Legion supports members of the Royal Navy, British Army, and Royal Air Force, as well as veterans and their families.

The Poppy Appeal, its largest annual fundraising campaign, runs each November during the period of Remembrance.

All proceeds from the Poppy Appeal and the Poppy Shop go directly to supporting the Armed Forces community in areas like financial support, employment, housing, and mental health.
