Paint-tastic! Schoolchildren get messy in reminder for homebuyers to look after the planet

Schoolchildren got messy to mark World Environment Day and remind homebuyers to look after the planet.

The pupils, from Hart Plain Infant School in Waterlooville, also painted some unique masterpieces to be displayed in a Barratt show home.

Armed with paintbrushes, the children didn’t hold back when it came to creating a ‘colourful’ representation of all things environmentally friendly.

Their artwork is now taking pride of place at Barratt Homes Harbour Place development in Bedhampton.

World Environment Day, which was held earlier this month, brings together millions of people from across the globe, engaging them in the effort to protect and restore the Earth.

Tammy Bishop, Barratt Homes Sales Director, said: “It’s important that we all do our bit to protect the planet, and World Environment Day is a great reminder of this.

“At Barratt we are committed to all things eco-friendly and wanted to create a visual representation of this at our Bedhampton development.

“We knew it would be children from our local area that would be the best for the job, and we were right.

“The pupils from Hart Plain Infant School have created some fantastic original masterpieces for us here at Harbour Place.”

Claire Ward, a teacher at Hart Plain Infant School, said: “This was a unique experience for our children to take part in, linked to a very important cause.

“They all had a lovely time and were very proud to share what they worked on during our celebration assembly.”
