Farnborough Airport has beefed up its security with a £3 million investment, keeping pace with the government’s newly amended Aviation Security Regulations.

C3 screening will enable passengers to leave large electronic items like laptops, tablets and phones in their cabin bags.

They’ll also be able to carry liquids of up to two litres through security without removing them from baggage.

And the new security scanners will replace traditional metal detectors, ensuring a secure and non-invasive process.

Simon GeereSimon Geere, CEO of Farnborough Airport, said: “The completion of our £3 million security screening upgrade marks a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to delivering an unparalleled passenger experience and one that meets the evolving needs of our customers.

“Installing new security technology is a testament to the airport’s continuous efforts to take a leading role in driving both service and security standards.

“Our passengers can now enjoy a faster, smoother and more convenient journey through our airport, knowing they’re benefitting from the highest levels of security and assurance.”
