EV rapid charging network InstaVolt has bolstered its senior leadership team with the appointment of Jo Kerr as group marketing director and Mark Sherrard as sales director.

InstaVolt logoThe joint announcement comes after the Basingstoke company landed a number one spot in the ORESA Growth Index 2024 Top 100, having achieved a compound annual growth rate of 362 per cent.

Jo joins InstaVolt from Cinch, where as brand director she engaged presenter Rylan Clark to help form the UK’s fastest growing direct to consumer online car buying brand.

Previously, she was managing partner at worldwide creative agency Iris with responsibility for Shell.

During her 25 years’ experience in senior leadership roles in marketing, Jo has worked with a range of brands including Barclays, Motorola, Vodafone, GSK, Alcon and HP.

She said: “I’m delighted to have joined the team at such a pivotal time for EVs and charging.

“Without doubt we’re at the tipping point of EVs becoming the norm and I want to make sure that InstaVolt is the first name consumers think about when it comes to charging their cars on the go.”

With almost 20 years’ experience in the energy sector, Mark joins InstaVolt following a two-year spell as commercial director at net zero provider eEnergy.

During his tenure there, he created a sales message and process that generated an 87 per cent increase in revenue and grew the pipeline from £98 million to £227 million.

Prior to his role at eEnergy, Mark was head of sales at specialist energy supplier Yu Group, where he led a team to contract and onboard over 2,000 new customers from other failing suppliers.

He said: “InstaVolt has the best reputation in its field and it’s incredibly exciting to join at this stage when there is so much momentum.

“I’ve spent much of my career in supporting sustainable energy endeavours, as well as being a car nut. This is the perfect fit.”

Simon Smith, CCO of InstaVolt, added: “We’re delighted to welcome on board Jo and Mark as we enter a new phase of growth.

“Their track records and experience speak for themselves and will add breadth and depth to the senior leadership team.”

InstaVolt now has 120 full time employees and is gearing up to deliver on its commitment to install 11,000 ultra rapid chargers in the UK and Ireland, as well as 5,000 across Spain and Portugal and more than 300 in Iceland.
