Vivid Green, the green building installer, has successfully completed a new modular library and quiet space at Kempshott Junior School in Basingstoke.

The project is designed to enhance the learning environment for children at the junior school, which fits with Vivid Green’s commitment to delivering sustainable, functional, and aesthetically pleasing educational spaces.

Located near Basingstoke town centre, Kempshott Junior School commissioned the build of a new modular building earlier this year, comprising a 60 square meter library and a 22 square meter staff room.

Completed in just four weeks, the structure also includes bifold doors and an entrance canopy for shade, skylights for natural lighting, sustainable red cedar cladding, composite decking for the walkway and galvanised steel ground screws to minimise environmental impact.

The new facility significantly improves the school’s reading space and aesthetic appeal, proving to be a cost-effective investment.

Olly Urquhart, co-founder of Vivid Green, said: “We are incredibly proud of the completed project at Kempshott Junior School and hearing positive feedback is truly rewarding.

“Our goal was to create a functional, sustainable, and aesthetically pleasing space that would enhance the learning environment for students and teachers.

“This project highlights the significant benefits of schools and councils collaborating with small businesses like Vivid Green. We aim to create a long-lasting and positive impact on educational environments for generations to come.”

Jo Johnson, Admin & Finance Officer at Kempshott Junior School, said: “The new building is beautiful, situated on the playground with wood cladding, making it environmentally friendly and visually appealing. Both students and teachers love it.

“It has had a very positive impact on our school day.  It has allowed our Breakfast and Afterschool Club children to have their own dedicated space by moving the Library outside and in turn, has provided a wonderful environment for the children to nurture their love of reading and learning.

“I would recommend Vivid Green to other schools, but also anyone with the space and budget. The quality and benefits are outstanding for both educational and private use.”

The library was recently officially unveiled to the school by award-winning children’s book author Guy Bass, who conducted workshops with the children and signed books for fans.
