Sue Murphy has ushered in a new era for Paris Smith as she becomes the first woman to take on the role of practice director.

The promotion comes following her last three years as director of business development and digital marketing at the firm, prior to which she worked in various legal management and leadership support roles for more than 20 years.

Sue said: “I’m really excited to be taking on this role!

“The firm has a long-standing reputation for excellence, and I’m proud to be able to make an enhanced contribution to that.

“I look forward to using all my skills and experience to help drive the firm forward, ensuring that we continue to achieve the very best results for our clients and the communities in which we operate.”

Sue will be working alongside managing partner Huw Miles and senior partner Peter Taylor on the leadership team, as they work together to develop and implement plans for the future growth of Paris Smith.

Meanwhile at the firm’s Southampton headquarters, the office is currently undergoing a substantial refit in order to optimise the space and technology available to staff.

Huw added: “Sue will be a fantastic practice director.

“She has the full deck of skills and experience, but most importantly, she knows how to deliver results.

“The whole firm has begun a new five year journey to greater heights and Sue’s appointment will help us get there.”
