An app being newly launched into the UK by a Whiteley-based business can trigger an emergency response using only the power of your voice.
Security solutions operator Croma has partnered with the bSafe Group to bring the Croma bSafe personal security app to the UK market.
The app is already a success in its domestic market, Norway, and the US, and is currently being launched in Australia.
Croma bSafe is unique among personal security apps because it doesn’t rely solely on physical access to your phone.
In the likely scenario where a phone is in your pocket, handbag or rucksack, an emergency reponse can be activated remotely. Voice activation technology triggers an emergency response by shouting a preset command such as “I am afraid” or “bSafe now”.
Once triggered, audio and video will start to record and send an alert with a copy of the recording to your appointed guardian contacts, as well as allowing them to track your location in real time and see and hear everything via GPS and an emergency live stream.
With an upgrade to the Croma bSafe Advanced Safety Package, this emergency response can also be triggered with a portable panic button, which can be worn on the wrist, key ring, amongst clothing or in a pocket.
For a premium level of personal protection, an upgrade to the Ultimate Safety Package in the UK provides an extra layer of protection with a real-time monitoring service on a 24/7 basis, and agents who can review any situation and escalate to the police for the appropriate response or medical assistance.
This real-time monitoring service guarantees a response to SOS panic alerts by a professional call handler, tracking location and importantly, opening two-way communication, both audibly and visually, recording and storing vital information.
The system also includes the ability to set up a fake call to help you get out of an unpleasant or unsafe situation.
The app provides the facility to set up an incoming call, upon command or at a specific time, which can look as if it comes from a parent or friend. You can either decline or accept and use it as a reason to step away from an unsafe or uncomfortable setting.
‘Follow Me’ allows your appointed guardian contacts to follow you and walk with you, seeing your location on their phone via live GPS tracking.
The Timer Alarm function gives you the option to determine how long you want the app to follow your steps and if you do not check in on time it will automatically trigger an alarm.
I’m Here is a feature that allows you to confirm that you have safely arrived once at your destination, an option that can be used routinely to provide peace of mind for friends and family.
