UPOWA expands to three new regions as it looks to hire local & meet growing demand for renewables

UPOWA has opened up three new operational regions in the South West, Midlands and East Anglia.

It marks the next step in the Whitley company’s expansion plans amid growing demand for solar PV, battery storage and EV charging solutions.

A new operational depot will be opening in Exeter, supporting projects in Devon, Bristol, Somerset and Cornwall. There’ll also be depots in Sutton Coldfield and Bury St. Edmunds, creating 30 new jobs total.

Paul Terry, managing director of UPOWA, said: “Having a regional focus will allow to train and develop a skilled workforce from the local community, tackling the green skills shortage, while futureproofing our delivery capabilities.”

James Bull, founder and sales director, added: “We’ve seen record sales over the last year, and the new depots will further accelerate our growth plans.

“They’ll allow us to employ locally while maintaining high stock levels in strategic locations.

“This investment demonstrates UPOWA’s commitment and ability to scale and support our customers with the rising demand for our sustainable technology solutions.”

It comes after from a record-breaking year for UPOWA, part of the Brickability Group.

As well as hiring a new managing director, sales director and finance director, last year saw national solar PV partnerships forged with leading housebuilders Barratt Developments, Taylor Wimpey and Redrow.

Technical design and support, product and sales functions will continue to be based at UPOWA’s Whiteley headquarters, while all programming, scheduling and aftercare will be managed from its operational hub in Lee-on-the Solent.
