Two South Coast drinks producers fly the flag for British beverages in Serbia

Hampshire-based Hattingley Valley Wines and Pothecary Gin from Dorset have been flying the flag for British beverages in Serbia.

The two companies were chosen to represent Britain on the British Serbian Ambassador stand at Wine Vision Open Balkan 2023, an event which has come to be recognised as the fourth largest wine fair in Europe.

The Hampshire Fare members were invited by the British Serbian Chamber of Commerce.

Drinks for the pair of producers were also served at the opening cocktail party for the Wine Vision Fair, held at the British Embassy where the British Ambassador for Serbia, Edward Ferguson, made a point of praising Pothecary Gin.

After again tasting Pothecary Gin at the exhibition stand, the Ambassador went on to gift a bottle of Pothecary Gin Original to Tomislav Momirovic, the Serbian Minister of Trade, at their introductory meeting.

The recognition paid to Pothecary Gin was particularly fitting as the organic juniper in the distillery’s gin comes from Serbia.

Martin and Nicole commented that they were very honoured and very proud of their involvement. The initial responses and promising connections have also signalled a positive trajectory for Pothecary Gin in the ever-evolving landscape of the global drinks industry.
