As part of their celebration of the King’s coronation The Lugger Inn, Chickerell, has decided to join THE BIG HELP OUT initiative on the 8th of May through the launch of their Life & Soul Community Trust.
The trust will provide support to people in the local community in a variety of ways with the overall goal being to ”bring happiness to others and promote wellbeing”.
To officially launch the trust The Lugger Inn is hosting an event on the 27th May called ”A Day at the Races” in the pub’s ‘Octopus’s garden’. Local businesses will be able to sponsor horses and races, and customers will have the chance to dress up and place bets on their favourite horses.
Owner of the Lugger Inn Liam Coles said: “We are excited to launch our new community trust. In 2022 we were proud to win the Pub of the Year competition with the Dorset Echo and we really wanted to give something back to our patrons. The wellbeing of our customers, family and friends is very important to us and we wanted to formally set out our intentions to the community.
”Following our new King’s lead, we want everyone to feel included, happy, and cared for in our community and that is why we are launching the trust during the Coronation celebrations on Monday 8 th May as part of THE BIG HELP OUT initiative.”
