Southampton law firm Womble Bond Dickinson has announced it will be backing a children’s cancer charity as its new charity partner.
The firm has announced its support for Abby’s Heroes, which provides a range of practical measures and programmes to help families going through the harsh reality of childhood cancer.
WBD’s Southampton office will work with the charity to raise funds and awareness, as well as provide pro bono and volunteering support, over the next two years.
The partnership is part of WBD’s responsible business strategy, which aims to make a positive impact on the communities, environment and people it works with.
Nikki Powell, partner and CSR lead at WBD’s Southampton office, said: “We are delighted to announce Abby’s Heroes as our new charity partner.
“The charity does amazing work to support children and families affected by cancer, and we are looking forward to working with them to make a difference.
“As a firm, we are committed to being a responsible business and giving back to the communities where we operate. Our charity partnerships are a key part of this, and we are proud of the impact we have made over the years through our fundraising and volunteering activities.”
Sally Randall, chief executive and founder of Abby’s Heroes, said: “We are thrilled to have been chosen as WBD’s charity partner for the next two years.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness and funds for Abby’s Heroes, which aims to help every single child and young adult who is diagnosed with cancer from across the South Coast and Wessex Region.
“We rely on the generosity and support of our corporate partners to continue our vital work.
“With WBD’s help, we can provide the funding and resources needed to support families during treatment, practical support and monies for making cherished memories and to run projects on the wards that make life on them a little easier.”
