Barratt and David Wilson Homes has donated £3,000 to a Southampton charity supporting children and young people who have been diagnosed with cancer.
Founded by Sally Randall, who lost her own daughter to cancer in 2016, Abby’s Heroes is funding a variety of projects to help people dealing with the harsh reality of childhood cancer.
The charity is supporting children and their families who come under the care of the Piam Brown and the Teenagers and Young Adults (TYA) wards in Southampton General Hospital.
The housebuilder donated the money from its community fund, which provides support to worth causes in the region.
Sally said: “We are absolutely thrilled. We are supporting children and young people who have been diagnosed with cancer right across the South coast, and this incredible donation will help us make life a little easier for them and their families. A huge thank you from everyone here.”
Tammy Bishop, Barratt and David Wilson Homes Sales Director, Southampton Division, said: “We are committed to supporting organisations in the communities in which we are building, and we know what a fantastic job Abby’s Heroes is doing for local people. To be able to make this donation is a real pleasure.”
Abby’s Heroes offers financial and practical help to families going through a diagnosis of childhood cancer, as well as the opportunity to make lasting memories.
Barratt and David Wilson Homes’ Community Fund is a dedicated financial resource that helps to support local causes which improve the quality of life for those living in the region.
