Snows Motor Group has chosen Basingstoke for its second BYD dealership.
The new showroom representing the Chinese electric motoring brand is next to Snows’ existing Peugeot dealership in Aldermaston Road South, bringing up to 12 new jobs to the area.
All BYD models currently available in the UK – Dolphin, Atto 3 and Seal – are on display and available for inspection and purchase. The Seal U DM-i – a new plug-in hybrid SUV with a range of up to 671 miles – will soon be arriving too.
The dealership is running a ‘Dream Weekends’ promotion to coincide with the UEFA Euro 2024 football tournament. This weekend, there will be competitions offering chances to win official tournament merchandise.
Anyone who buys a new BYD car during the competition will qualify for a football shirt in the colours of their chosen country; games taking place when the showroom is open will be shown on large-screen TVs; and customers will be able to put their own soccer skills to the test via the famous FIFA computer game.
A well-equipped workshop has been established as part of the Basingstoke BYD operation. Staff have been fully trained in EV repair and maintenance techniques and are ready to look after customers’ cars.
Heading up the team at the dealership are David Bell, Franchise Manager; and sales specialist Oliver Davis.
David said: “We are delighted to announce that Snows BYD Basingstoke is now open – and we have certainly hit the ground running. We’ve been super-busy explaining the benefits of BYD cars to everyone who has come to see us during our first few weeks.
“I am sure BYD will prove very popular in the Basingstoke area. The cars are built to an excellent standard and come with so many great features, people tend to be very impressed when they find out what they’re getting for their money.
“They sit right up there in terms of specification and what they offer. They are just as well equipped as higher-end products that cost a lot more – and the fit and finish is consistently good.’’
The all-electric line-up features a range of different options.
The Dolphin is a C-segment hatchback with a 265-mile range and the ability to rapid-charge from 30 per cent to 80 per cent in under half an hour.
For something with a little more room, Atto 3 is an smart-looking SUV with a spacious interior boasting a range of 260 miles.
The BYD Seal sports saloon, meanwhile, delivers a 354-mile range and can go from 0-62mph in just 3.8 seconds.
Examples of all three are in stock at BYD Basingstoke, and lead times are counted in a few weeks, rather than months, as is the case with some manufacturers.
