Knights Brown has completed the new double-storey pavilion clubhouse for Ringwood Community Hub as part of a multimillion-pound redevelopment at Long Lane.

Knights Brown logoOfficially opened at a special event earlier this month, the pavilion provides facilities for local grassroots clubs, with a cafe, changing facilities, a balcony overlooking the pitch and back-of-house functions.

The project has been boosted by a grant from the Premier League, The FA and the government’s Football Foundation, as well as additional funding from New Forest District Council and Ringwood & District Round Table.

The site will continue to be the home of Ringwood Town FC, as well as hosting community programmes like development sessions and walking football run by AFC Bournemouth’s Community Sports Trust.

Mike CrookMike Crook, divisional director at Knights Brown, said: “It’s been a pleasure for Knights Brown to be the main contractor on this design and build project.

“We were keen to partner with AFC Bournemouth and Ringwood Town FC, as Knights Brown have been based in Ringwood since the company was formed in 1953.

“The new clubhouse is a welcoming space that has really transformed the area and will be a vibrant centrepiece for our community.”

Cllr Rae Frederick, mayor of Ringwood, added: “I’m delighted that Ringwood Town Council has been able to play its part in securing these new football facilities for the town.

“The improved facilities will provide more opportunities for local people of all ages and abilities to be involved with sport.

“I’m so grateful to our key partners – Ringwood Town Football Club, AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust, the Football Foundation, New Forest District Council, Hampshire FA and many others.

“And to the lead contractors – Knights Brown, TigerTurf and McArdle Sport-Tec.”
