The team at ITS Southampton have chosen to celebrate a company milestone by raising £50,000 for the Sue Ryder charity – £1,000 for each year in business so far.
They’re joining a whole network of offices around the UK, as the construction recruitment firm encourages its staff to take part in various fundraising events.
Chief among these efforts has been a trip to Fort William, where John Bennett, Don Jeater, Harry Yeadon, Craig Hunt, Elliot Gotts, and Chris Grimes – all of ITS Southampton – braved the elements to complete the Three Peaks Challenge.
The team began their ascent of Ben Nevis in the morning sunshine at 4:30am, but by the time they moved onto Scafell Pike, the weather had taken a turn for the worse and the climbers were caught in a lightning storm.
They persevered nonetheless, and after 48 hours with no sleep managed to reach the final summit at 3:58am – just 32 minutes inside the 24-hour deadline.
Their efforts earned the group a collective £3,115 towards the charity goal, which was recently boosted by a football fundraiser back at the Southampton offices.
Callum McCartney, Director at ITS Southampton, praised the efforts of everyone involved, saying: “We believe that success means more than just financial gain – it means making a positive impact on the world around us.
“That’s why we’re excited to support a fantastic cause as we mark our 50th anniversary.”
