A girls’ football team celebrated success after sporting smart new Bellway-sponsored shirts for their Cup Plate semi-final match.
The housebuilder’s kit donation proved a lucky omen with Sarisbury Sparks U8 Amber Girls going onto win the game.
They’re now looking forward to the Cup Plate final in April.
Prior to the donation, the girls had been looking to wear their old smaller kits for another season as they didn’t have a sponsor.
The girls play in the Hampshire Girls Youth Football League.
The club is based at Coal Park Lane in Southampton, just five miles from the Bellway at Boorley Gardens development near Botley.
Alice Lording, U8 Amber Girls Manager, said: “The girls were incredibly excited to receive their new kit, especially as this is the first kit they have had as a team.
“Bellway’s donation really helped to unite them, as they won their semi-final in the Cup Plate.
“We would like to extend our grateful thanks to Bellway for its kind donation of kit.
“They have helped put a huge smile on our girls’ faces and certainly helped bring them together.”
Jon Rance, Sales Manager for Bellway Wessex, said: “Here at Bellway, providing support to the local community is at the heart of what we do.
“We were only too pleased to provide the under-eight girls’ team at Sarisbury Sparks with new sponsored kit.
“The fact they went on to win their semi-final – their first game since acquiring the new shirts – is great, and we’d like to wish the girls all the best for the final.
“We look forward to hearing about their future progress.”
Bellway Wessex is building a selection of two, three and four-bedroom homes at Boorley Gardens.
