At the time of writing it’s only one week to go until the South Coast Construction and Property Sailing Regatta 2024.

The annual event brings together a variety of South Coast businesses for a day of racing through a set course of windward and leeward legs.

Open to both experienced sailors and novices, the Beneteau First 40 Racing Yachts used by the teams also carry a professional captain and first mate.

Let’s take a look at some of the key players taking part this year:

Gracelands Civil Engineering & Groundworks: Last year’s winner, Gracelands, emerged victorious in the battle on the Solent. Their impressive track record in construction and innovation makes them a strong contender.

Lifestory: Keep an eye on Lifestory—they won in 2022. Their determination and sailing prowess could propel them to the top spot this year.

Dutton Gregory Solicitors: These skilled sailors clinched third place in the last event. Their experience and teamwork might just lead them to victory.

With the regatta attracting participants of varying experience, competition is expected to be intense.

The headline sponsor this year is Gracelands Civil Engineering & Groundworks, with Barratt and David Wilson Homes Southampton Division sponsoring the committee/race boat.

Barratt and David Wilson Homes Southampton Division proudly sponsors the South Coast CPS Regatta 2024 as part of its commitment to community engagement and supporting local initiatives. By partnering with the regatta, Barratt seeks to celebrate the maritime heritage of the region while promoting outdoor activities and teambuilding.

South Coast CPS Director, Lucy Richmond commented: “The sponsors play a vital role in our event’s success. With their support, we’re able to host an exciting competition that brings together professionals from the construction and property industry. We’re grateful for their commitment and support look forward to another memorable regatta”
