Business South, the independent representative of businesses across Hampshire and the central South Coast, has named its latest champion sponsor.

The Southampton division of Barratt and David Wilson Homes now counts itself among a list of more than 100 champions and partners, each working with Business South to promote the region as a preferred location for investment.

James Dunne, managing director at BDW Southampton, said: “It’s a pleasure to be joining a group of like-minded businesses to help influence positive change in the central southern region.

“Business South is the largest networking group in the local area, and being a champion will give us the perfect opportunity to stay connected with other key stakeholders to share ideas and knowledge.”

Based in Southampton, Business South works alongside more than 50 local authorities, 10 universities and hundreds of business brands, ultimately injecting an estimated £4 billion into the regional economy.

The organisation aims to connect business leaders, lobby for positive change, support startups and fledgling enterprises, and develop sector-specific action groups.

This is only possible with the support of businesses like Barratt and David Wilson Homes, whose Southampton division has itself invested £46 million in the local economy over the past year alone.
