Hampshire Fare have gathered the county’s food, drink and craft businesses to offer people the chance to win a variety of locally sourced festive treats.
From now until 13th December, their ‘Cracker of a Christmas’ competition will dish out six weekly prizes donated by their members – from key elements of the Christmas feast to special experiences.
What exactly is on offer? “That’s a closely guarded secret”, said Natasha Dochniak, Commercial Manager at Hampshire Fare.
“This is a fun competition with a serious purpose.
“It’s a great way of getting people engaged with and excited about the wide range of amazing local food, drink and gifts available.
“Buying local is buying better – local offers quality, flavour and thoughtfulness.”
And it seems that Hampshire shoppers agree, as Natasha and the team have seen more and more people taking to conscious consumerism.
“People feel more invested in what they are buying when they know the story, the people and the passion behind the local food, drink and gifts they buy”, she added.
“Buying locally is also one of the greenest and most sustainable options, and by shopping local, people are helping to support local businesses – which benefits our communities.”
The competition kicks off this week with a 5kg free-range festive turkey from Newlyns Farm Shop near Hook.
