BDO LLP, the accountancy and business advisory firm, has underlined its commitment to the Central South region by securing a new 15-year lease on its Southampton office.

The firm has temporarily relocated from Arcadia House on Maritime Walk to Basepoint Business Centre while the existing office undergoes a multi-million-pound renovation in collaboration with landlord Forelle Estates. The refurbishment is set to be completed by the end of the year.

The revitalised office will feature a modern, collaborative workspace designed to support BDO’s agile working strategy. This includes advanced technology to facilitate flexible working arrangements, allowing staff to operate from the office, home, or client sites as required.

Steve Le Bas, BDO’s Regional Managing Partner in Southampton, highlighted the significance of the investment: “BDO is firmly committed to the local market and has made a real statement of intent through our investment in new offices.

“This ambitious infrastructure project will provide the foundations for us to continue investing in the region – not only by creating jobs over the medium and long-term, but by allowing us to support ambitious, growing businesses across all corners of the region.”

The office space, located at Arcadia House, will offer 17,000 sq. ft. of Grade A commercial space. This development is part of BDO’s broader initiative to modernise its offices, aligning with its Net Zero and ESG goals, which include halving emissions by 2030.

Le Bas added: “Our people are at the heart of our business. As such, it’s hugely important for us to provide a more flexible working model, which allows us to blend digital connectivity and physical space, encouraging effective collaboration with each other, the businesses we work with, and colleagues in BDO’s global network.

“I’m also delighted that our investment will contribute to our Net Zero commitments, which are a top priority for the firm.”
