Wealth management firm Quilter – one of Southampton’s largest employers, has announced a three-year tie-up with two UK charities Meals & More and Feeding Britain, it was reported.
The charity arm of the investment firm – The Quilter Foundation – has partnered with the two organisations and the move was celebrated last month with a special Christmas light switch-on event.
UK-wide Feeding Britain runs community food clubs and offers low-cost meals and advice services. The Quilter tie-up will enable it to support seven more community food clubs.
Meanwhile, Meals & More supports holiday clubs and provides meals and activities for children. It will now be able to deliver more than 106,000 meals to nearly 7,000 children.
“As a business dedicated to building brighter financial futures, we recognise that a child’s future starts with the basics – having enough to eat,” reportedly said Steven Levin, CEO of Quilter.
“I am delighted that The Quilter Foundation is partnering with two incredible charities, Meals & More and Feeding Britain. Together, we’re addressing the immediate challenge of child hunger, while giving the next generation a strong foundation to reach their full potential,” he added.
Staff from Quilter will volunteer with both charities, aiding in food deliveries and holiday clubs.
Quilter employs over 1,100 people at its distinctive Southampton office building, close to the city’s railway station.
