Yasmin Hoque, a consultant solicitor at Jurit LLP in Southampton, has been named in the Top 50 Most Influential Muslim List for Europe for 2024, marking her second year in a row to receive the accolade.
The prestigious list, now in its third year, is compiled by EqualityX and celebrates the achievements of Muslim professionals who have made a significant impact in their fields while enhancing the reputation of Muslim communities.
Those included on the list have a proven track record of bringing positive change to society and improving workplace culture.
Yasmin, a private client solicitor, holds an Islamic Alimiyyah qualification that allows her to advise on Sharia law for both local and international clients.
Specialising in succession planning, she helps clients with matters such as wills, probate, charity law, and personal tax. Her inclusion in this list once again highlights her influence and the respect she commands in her profession.
Speaking on Yasmin’s recognition, Dr Zaheer Ahmad MBE, founder of EqualityX, said: “We’d like to congratulate Yasmin on being recognised as one of the Top 50 Influential Muslims in Europe.
“This achievement reflects her dedication and profound impact within her community and professional field.
“Out of the hundreds of entries we received, Yasmin’s authenticity and courage in embracing her faith in the workplace distinguished her, together with her efforts to address and highlight the challenges faced by Muslims, which is truly commendable.”
Yasmin, who advises clients on private wealth and tax at Jurit LLP, expressed her pride: “I am delighted to have been recognised in this way.
“It feels like a certification and validation of all the work going on behind the scenes to deliver on the blend of faith and law which many said not to pursue. I am honoured to share this with so many other influential people in this space, and feel very blessed to be included.”
Jo Summers, a Partner in Jurit’s Private Wealth & Tax team and an expert in Sharia Law herself, added: “Well done to Yasmin on receiving this much-deserved award.
“Her commitment to go above and beyond in all that she does for her Muslim and non-Muslim clients is commendable, and we are incredibly pleased for Yasmin that she has been recognised in this way.”
