Solent Partners call upon local businesses to offer work experience for young people with SEND

Solent Partners are keen to secure more workplace opportunities for young people in Hampshire with special educational needs.

They’re looking to engage with local businesses and employers – particularly those who’ve had personal experience of children with SEND, neurodiversity or alternative provision (AP) schools.

“Employer encounters are so beneficial for young people”, said Rachael Randall, Chair of Solent Partners.

“It gives them opportunities and ideas and demonstrates how their different skills can be valued in the workplace.

“We’re holding some virtual information sessions for businesspeople to find out how they can help young people engage with employers.

“Additionally, our Careers Hub team are happy to visit businesses in person to discuss offering some experiences of the workplace.

“This doesn’t have to be work experience – we’re looking at various insights and exposure to business to link education and industry.”

The sessions will take place at 9:30am and 4pm on 14th December.
