Nominations have opened for this year’s New Forest Brilliance in Business Awards.

A launch event attended by 100 representatives of local businesses was held at the Balmer Lawn Hotel in Brockenhurst.

The New Forest Business Partnership (NFBP) has hosted the business awards for the last 19 years.

The awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of individuals and businesses in the New Forest.

Headline sponsor for this year’s award is Parker Bullen Solicitors which has recently opened a new office in Totton.

The 19 categories are:

  • Totton College Award for Training and Development
  • NFU Mutual Award for Contribution to the Community
  • Solent University Award for Innovation
  • New Forest Marque Award for Food and Drink
  • Balmer Lawn Hotel Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Visitor Economy
  • University of Southampton Business School Award for Entrepreneur of the Year
  • New Forest Enterprise Centre Award for Best New Business
  • Forest Foodie Award for Outstanding Customer Care
  • Wessex Optical Award for Young Person in Business
  • New Forest National Park Authority Award for Sustainable Business of the Year
  • Forest Foot and Health Clinic & New Milton Foot Clinic Award for Health and Wellbeing
  • New Forest District Council Award for Best New Forest Micro Business
  • Fordingbridge Print Award for Business Growth
  • Scott Bailey Award for Professional Services
  • New Milton Advertiser and Lymington Times Award for Not For Profit Organisation of the Year
  • New Milton Sand and Ballast Award for Personal Achievement
  • View HR Award for Apprentice of the Year
  • Escape Yachting Award for Marine and Maritime

The overall New Forest Business of the Year, sponsored this year by Chewton Glen Hotel & Spa, is selected from the winners of the individual categories.

Matthew Lawson, Chairman of the New Forest Business Partnership, pictured left, said ‘’This very special event is about commemorating the successes of local businesses, recognising their achievements and celebrating what they have accomplished despite the challenges of the past year.

“We look forward to receiving a record number of entries this year – all local businesses can apply or be nominated.”

The awards event will take place on Thursday 29 November at Brockenhurst College and afterwards at Careys Manor Hotel.
