Matthew Tomkinson is taking over as Head Chef of Samphire Restaurant in Lymington

A Hampshire foodie hot spot has welcomed a new Michelin-starred head chef.
Matthew Tomkinson has taken the helm at Stanwell House’s Samphire Restaurant in Lymington.
He’ll oversee all food and beverage operations, crafting menus that celebrate the finest local ingredients.
Matthew has more than two decades of experience at some of the country’s most esteemed kitchens.
His career has seen him garner Michelin stars at two separate establishments, alongside multiple industry awards, including the coveted Roux Scholarship.
Having held his first Michelin star at The Goose in Oxfordshire, Matthew’s recent successes include the relaunch of The Hambrough’s restaurant on the Isle of Wight.
Prior to that, he held the position of Chef Patron at Betony at The Kings Head, Whiteparish.
Matthew was also Executive Chef at the Montagu Arms Hotel in Beaulieu for ten years.
He won the restaurant’s coveted Michelin star, alongside three AA Rosettes.
