Aldershot Enterprise Centre logoThe team at Aldershot Enterprise Centre have celebrated the grand opening of their new premises in the town centre alongside a host of local businesses and representatives.

Cllr Clive Grattan, Mayor of Rushmoor, cut the ribbon and welcomed visitors for a tour of the facilities, which include co-working spaces, meeting rooms and a large, modern café – all in the name of helping Hampshire’s fledgling enterprises thrive.

Chappies supplied food for the event and Clive the Magician was on hand to entertain guests.

Centre Manager Lorna Oldham said: “It’s wonderful to see so many people here today to see what we have on offer for the local business community.

“I’m excited to continue the work that we began 9 years ago in our wonderful new building!”

Speeches were given Ian Cambrook and Peter Grant of WSX Developments, who manage the centre, as well as Cllr David Clifford, Leader of Rushmoor Council.

David said: “We welcome this investment in Aldershot.

“The council was delighted to support WSX Developments in opening this newly refurbished facility.

“Ideally located in Aldershot town centre, and close to the railway station, the centre will help to support small and growing businesses and secure the future prosperity of our borough.”

Alongside familiar faces from the old site came the British Association for Supported Employment and its CEO Laura Davis, who shared and will continue to share facilities with the enterprise centre.

Laura added: “Since moving to the new office in the centre of Aldershot it’s brought even greater benefits to me as a smaller charity.

“I’m connected into a community of other organisations, so in terms of my own wellbeing and mental health, I’m not isolated in the way that I could be in other offices.”
