Maritime UK Solent makes a splash on the world stage at London International Shipping Week

Maritime businesses from across Hampshire joined industry body Maritime UK Solent recently as they headed to the nation’s capital for London International Shipping Week 2023.

Maritime UK Solent logoTogether they highlighted the region’s flourishing maritime sector and took part in the Solent Investment Showcase, pitching to UK and international investors.

That event was hosted by MUK Solent Chair Anne-Marie Mountifield and MD Stuart Baker, who found a common theme of innovative clean technologies across each of the pitches.

Among the businesses involved were Chartwell Marine, Ecomar Propulsion, Griffon Hoverwork, Kraken Technology Group, Optima Projects, RAD Propulsion, Seabot Maritime and Vulcan Offshore.

Anne-Marie MountifieldAnne-Marie said: “Our investors event was very successful and placed us at the heart of the action at London International Shopping Week.

“Every one of the Solent maritime businesses made excellent pitches for investment and left all the delegates in no doubt that there is huge innovation and collective excellence on offer in the Solent’s maritime industry.

“We’re confident that the event will lead to more regional investment and future success for the maritime companies who took part and boost the region’s economic prosperity.

“The Solent is leading the way in shaping the future of maritime and there’s an enormous amount of potential in our region.”

MUK Solent also found its own spotlight at the Maritime UK Regional event hosted by the national body Maritime UK alongside the Department of Transport.
