The Managing Partner of Paris Smith overcame his fear of heights to abseil Portsmouth’s Spinnaker Tower and raise almost £2,000 for the regional law firm’s Charity of The Year.
Huw Miles described his 170-metre descent in aid of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance as “both thrilling and deeply rewarding”.
He added: “The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance performs life-saving work and it’s an honour to support them in any way possible.
“I’m immensely grateful to everyone who has donated so far and encourage those who haven’t yet to visit our JustGiving page and contribute to this worthy cause.”
Keith Wilson, Director of Income and Engagement at Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, said: “We are so thankful to Huw Miles and the team at Paris Smith for their support and extraordinary efforts, not just for this event but the partnership across the year.
“People in our community going above and beyond like this are critical in helping us keep the air ambulance flying and saving lives across the region 365 days a year.”
The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance provides rapid response emergency medical assistance to those in need.
The charity relies entirely on donations to maintain its operations and to ensure it continues to save lives across the region.
The funds raised by Huw and his team could allow the charity to purchase a state-of-the-art flight helmet, keeping its lifesaving crews safe and prepared for each of its emergency flights.
Paris Smith has offices in Southampton and Winchester.
It’s well-known not only for its legal expertise but also for its strong commitment to community service and social responsibility.
