The Green Gram community shop in Fordingbridge is on the move to a larger, more accessible high street location just over a year after its launch.
As reported by Hampshire Biz News, the team launched their second share offer this August to fund the move, and alongside the local community they’ve managed to raise £15,000.
Since May 2022, The Green Gram has offered refills for food, cleaning products and toiletries, saving more than 25,000 containers – an equivalent 600kg plastic – from landfill.
“It’s been all hands on deck as we move the stock from our little shop into our new premises”, said Committee Member Jo Anderson.
“It was a labour of love from friends and volunteers to refurbish the new shop.
“We’re absolutely delighted to have made the move seamlessly – with the help of our friends in the community.
“We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has helped us relocate, whether by buying shares or by donating money, equipment or time.
“We really couldn’t have done it without you all!”
Jo and the team will hold an open event next Friday 27th October to showcase the new premises at 23 High Street, providing drinks and tasters from 5 to 7pm.
“We’re really looking forward to seeing as many who can make it to our open event and to help us celebrate such a positive move for us – and for the High Street!” Jo added.
