Three staff from Barratt Homes took time out of their usual schedule earlier this month to support the Summer Family Fun Day run by Hayling Island Community Centre Association (HICCA).

The volunteers put on their bright yellow jackets and helped to marshall cars as visitors arrived for an afternoon of activities and fundraising.

Centre Manager Iona Harkness said: “Fundraising afternoons like this one, that also provide entertainment for the community, are very important.

“This year’s event was really successful, and we couldn’t do it without our team of volunteers.

“Thanks go to the Barratt employees who gave up their time for us today – we really appreciate it.”

It was all made possible by Barratt Homes’ volunteering initiative, which gives all staff the chance to take two days out of work each year and help support a local cause.

Among the volunteers was Megan Hamlyn, Marketing Manager at Barratt Homes.

She added: “We want to support organisations in the communities where we’re building new homes, and HICCA is providing a great central hub for activities and events on Hayling Island.

“It’s been a real pleasure to offer our help today.”
