The Hendy Group in Eastleigh is celebrating four new members of its ‘25 Year Club’ as part of the company’s ongoing recognition of long-term service.
These new inductees bring Eastleigh’s total to 53 employees, all of whom have dedicated at least a quarter of a century to the business.
This milestone is part of a larger celebration across the Hendy Group, which inducted 18 new members into the Club at a special event in Brighton.
The Club now boasts 155 members, accounting for 9.4 per cent of the company’s workforce of 1,648 employees.
Joining the prestigious group this year from the Eastleigh branch are Graham Biggerstaff, Customer Service Specialist; John Barnes, Finance Business Partner; Marie Bennett, Senior Credit Controller; and Alan Rawe, also a Customer Service Specialist.
At the celebratory event held at the Brighton Hilton Metropole, the new members were honoured with a special dinner and presented with commemorative carriage clocks by Paul Hendy, the Group’s Chief Executive.
The event was hosted by members of the Hendy family and featured an array of activities, including a baking lesson with celebrity chef and Hendy Group Ambassador, Rosemary Shrager, and rounds of crazy golf on Brighton Beach.
Paul Hendy expressed his gratitude for the dedication of the long-serving employees, saying: “This club holds a special place in my heart. These colleagues have poured years of effort into our Group’s success, and it is truly a privilege to treat them and their loved ones to a memorable day out.”
One of the event’s highlights was the recognition of John Barnes, the longest-serving member of the Hendy team, who began his career as an apprentice technician 56 years ago. Today, John continues to contribute to the company as an established Technician.
The combined service of all 25 Year Club members now exceeds 5,166 years, with roles ranging from board-level management to customer service specialists, technicians, and parts advisors across more than 40 locations in southern England.
Hendy Group, which marks its 165th anniversary in 2024, continues to be a significant employer in the region, committed to fostering a positive and inclusive working environment.
