Greendale Construction has started worked to renovate, rebuild and remodel a clubhouse which was damaged by fire in 2021.

On 29th September a fire devasted most of the Lasham Gliding Society Clubhouse, situated at the edge of Lasham Airfield near Alton.

The works, carried out by the firm’s Winchester office, will include the strip-out and cleaning of all remaining fire and smoke damaged materials, installation of new equipment and finishes; reconstruction of walls and partitions within the steel portal framed single-storey building, with brick external walls and insulated steel dual pitch roof.

An extensive fit-out will also include fire detection and egress systems, data and security; design of the new bar and installation; new kitchen servery counter, and fire compartmentation barriers to the roof void.

Andy Musselwhite, Commercial Director, Greendale Construction, said: “It’s a pleasure for Greendale Construction to be main contractors on this complete renovation, rebuild and remodelling contract which will see the Lasham Gliding Society’s clubhouse revitalised to a comfortable, convivial, and welcoming space for its’ members.

“We look forward to handing this project over in the summer of 2024.”
