Geeta’s, the chutney brand founded by Geeta Samtani and her husband in the early 90s, has grown into a market leader in the UK, transforming the way people experience Indian cuisine.
Based at Chineham Park, Basingstoke, Geeta’s has become synonymous with innovative flavours and culinary exploration, all while maintaining a strong focus on family values and sustainability.
David Page, a food retail expert and Non-Executive Director at Geeta’s, reflected on the brand’s journey: “Our aim is to take Indian flavours beyond the occasional curry night and make them a staple in everyday dishes.
“We want people to enjoy dishes like mango and Greek yoghurt potato salad or cheese and mango chutney toasties.”
This forward-thinking approach has seen Geeta’s not just maintain its position as the UK’s leading branded chutney, but also inspire a culinary shift towards more adventurous use of Indian spices and ingredients.
David added: “In India, every family has its own masala mix. We’re helping people in the UK embrace that same spirit of creativity.”
Geeta’s ambitious growth strategy for the next four years includes expanding its product range and enhancing its sustainability efforts to cater to environmentally conscious consumers.
The brand’s success is supported by its dedicated team of 15 based at Chineham Park, a location that has become central to its operations.
David spoke highly of their base, saying: “Chineham Park perfectly reflects our family values and commitment to employee well-being. It’s conveniently located, making it easy for us to connect with our partners, whether they’re in the UK or abroad.”
The team at Geeta’s also takes pride in being an active part of the business community at Chineham Park, participating in various events and planning to host their own food events to showcase new products.
Frasers Property, which manages Chineham Park, has aimed to create a vibrant business environment that attracts prominent brands alongside Geeta’s, fostering a strong sense of community and well-being.
Eilidh McAllister, Senior Asset Manager at Frasers Property UK, expressed pride in Geeta’s success: “We are thrilled to see Geeta’s thriving at Chineham Park and look forward to supporting their continued growth.”
