Back in 2017, Ellen Stokes from Fordingbridge launched Be Exhibitions, designing and building stands on behalf of brands for conventions and expos.

The company first called on Ellen to help them stand out and generate leads at the four-day Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas in 2022.

Following on from the success of that event she’s joined the team for every show since and is already booked in for next year.

Ellen Stokes“It was a great achievement when what3words contacted me to help them with the exhibition”, said Ellen.

“It’s a huge event where the biggest names in the world exhibit, so it’s hugely important to be noticed.

“It’s also crucial to have a stand that properly reflects the client’s business in the right way.

“In order to do that you have to almost become your client – which is where the name ‘Be Exhibitions’ came from.

“The design, technology and audio-visual aspects of a stand are the difference between generating leads or failing.

“Success in Vegas is as big as it gets, and for a small business in Fordingbridge, it’s quite a feat to have played a large part in that.”

For what3words, Ellen put together a stand with self-serve demos, an ecosystem wall, meeting rooms and signs – all tied together with lighting and a vibrant colour scheme.

Giles Rhys Jones, CMO of what3words, was a big fan, saying the team was ‘looking forward to working with her again in 2025’.

“Be Exhibitions ensured the what3words booth really came to life at CES this year.

“The setup enabled a truly immersive experience, and there was something to do or look at everywhere you turned, capturing the attention of everyone, from passers-by to key clients and stakeholders.

As for the business, Be Exhibitions turned over £650,000 last year, with Ellen expecting further growth over the coming 12 months.

“I’d worked in the industry before setting up the company seven years ago – and Covid aside, it’s been extremely successful.”

She also keeps an eye on the business’s environmental footprint, recycling where she can and partnering with social enterprise Mossy Earth to plant trees around Europe.
