Hughes & Salvidge has marked its 60th anniversary with the freehold purchase of a new headquarters in Hampshire.

The demolition business has moved into Leroux House, a detached 6,209 sq ft office on the 400-acre private office campus at Cams Estate, Fareham.

Previously based at Portsmouth Port, the £42 million turnover company employs more than 130 staff.

Its services include demolition and decommissioning, dismantling and asset recovery, decontamination and industrial cleaning, facade retention, site clearance and land remediation.

Clients range from blue chips, developers, main contractors and local authorities to government bodies, health trusts and utility companies.

Property consultancy Vail Williams acted for the seller, Heaton Property Investments.

The premises, with private parking for 38 cars, electric vehicle charging points, a first-floor board room and meeting rooms, has been extensively refurbished.

Leroux House is the largest self-contained office on the Cams Estate, with views across the golf course.

A spokesperson for Hughes & Salvidge said: “After a record 2023 for us, Leroux House will serve as our new headquarters at an important time of strategic expansion for the business, not only regionally and throughout the UK but internationally as well, with projects in Europe and the Middle East.

“Leroux House enables us to have staff under one roof for enhanced collaboration and efficiency, including employees from our associated companies K&B Crushers, H&S Metals and H&S Asbestos.

“We’re grateful to Vail Williams for their assistance in helping to achieve this result after we presented them with our search criteria.”

Russell Mogridge, head of office and industrial agency for Vail Williams across the South East and Midlands, added: “We handled the sale off-market and confidentially, subject to the early surrender of an existing lease by a previous tenant.

“Our team, thanks to regional market intelligence, often helps business owners identify off-market opportunities where there’s limited availability.

“We got to know Hughes & Salvidge and the company’s specific property requirements for a relocation headquarters in the Solent region, enabling Leroux House to change hands.

“As well as being a property investment, the location was a prime reason for the acquisition – Leroux House is situated between Southampton and Portsmouth, just off junction 11 of the M27 with excellent transport links, and there are few freehold office buildings available in the Solent region like this.”

The freehold purchase price was undisclosed.
