They’re the third fastest-growing SME across the Solent – and they’ve just turned 20.
Dolphin Motorhomes started out back in 2003 with four members of staff, five motorhomes and a portacabin.
Now the business boasts a 27-strong workforce across branches in Southampton and Christchurch, with 80-plus vehicles for sale on its forecourts at any given time.
The team chose to mark the anniversary this year as part of their Dolphin Motorhomes Summer Celebration at Beaulieu Estate, inviting more than 70 families along to thank them for their custom over the last couple of decades.
Together they braved the poor weather and enjoyed a BBQ, silent disco, live music, dog show, charity quiz and games, all the while showcasing the motorhomes which have built their brand to what it is today.
Proceeds went towards local children’s charity Abby’s Heroes, who raised £4,000 thanks to the event.
Josh Willis, Founder and Managing Director of Dolphin Motorhomes, puts the company’s success down to a transparent and honest approach and a strong ethos.
“Customer service shouldn’t just be a department, it should be an entire company”, he said.
“It’s at the forefront of everything we do at Dolphin, and with a great team around me who believe this as well, we’re able to deliver a great service to all our customers.
“This ensures those customers return time and time again and also recommend us to others.
“I’m very proud of the business, and our team and I look forward to what the next 20 years can bring.”
Dolphin recently picked up two Gold awards at this year’s Practical Motorhomes’ Owner Satisfaction Awards.
And where other businesses suffered through the pandemic, they also recorded a 100.4 per cent increase in turnover at the close of 2021 – landing them that third-place spot on The Business Magazine’s SME 100 for the Solent region.
