Back for its third year, the South Coast CPS Regatta brought the construction and property industry back together for a day of racing and camaraderie.

Held in Port Hamble, this year’s event was made possible by the support of Gracelands, the South Coast’s leading civil engineers & groundworks, as the main sponsor, with the safety and committee boat sponsored by Barratt Homes.

Ten yachts, racing under ICS rules, competed fiercely in challenging conditions.

Despite starting with poor visibility, the day brightened as the wind picked up, providing an exhilarating experience for all on the water.

The event began with a poignant moment of reflection as the crew from Aecom played bagpipes in memory of Mark Vincent from Amiri Construction, observed with a respectful 11am minute of silence.

Throughout the day, three thrilling races tested the skills of each crew. Ultimately, it was LNT CARE DEVELOPMENTS who emerged as the overall winner, followed closely by Waterman Group in second place and Gracelands in third. However, even the last-place finishers were honoured, with Gracelands’ second boat receiving the wooden spoon.

Lucy Richmond, Director of South Coast CPS, expressed her delight with the event, emphasising its role in fostering networking, team building, and overall enjoyment. Attendees were particularly pleased with the gifts from the sponsors and South Coast CPS- waterproof phone pouches and towels provided by Passenger Clothing.

Reflecting on the success of the regatta, Richmond noted, “Planning events is not easy, but this regatta is a pleasure to put together. The phenomenal feedback and support we’ve received pave the way for an even more spectacular event next year.”

The excitement doesn’t end here; stay tuned for the announcement of the 2025 regatta date, coming next week. As Richmond hinted, “All these events lead to the main event, The SOUTH COAST Property Show taking place 14th November, this year at St Marys Stadium .”

Renowned photographer Paul Collins captured the excitement of the day.
