Last week, the Village Hotel in Farnborough was inundated with visitors as hundreds gathered for Farnborough Business Expo – a chance for local companies to show off what they do and forge new connections.
Around 60 exhibitors set up in the busy venue, from one-man bands all the way up to household names like Tesla, representing a whole range of industries.
As guests made their way around the room, others ducked next door to hear from one of the six speakers for the day.
Charlotte Haye
Charlotte Haye of Eleven Eight kicked off the morning with her talk on Finding Your Brand Voice. She was followed by Kaush Patel, who shared insight into B2B lead generation as Director of Your Lead Machine in Southampton, and Aldershot leadership coach James Carpenter, who gave some advice for business owners looking to boost their confidence.
The afternoon was all about growing a business, starting with high energy ActionCOACH Nell Op De Beeck, then experienced Sales Coach Dave Davies, and finally Jason Dalton, Director of Safe Hands, whose talk tackled the Three Degrees of Profit.
With all six seminars wrapped up, the event concluded with a round of speed networking hosted by The Ribbons Network.
Participants had just a minute to chat before moving swiftly on to the next person, which meant plenty of new connections over the half-hour session.
It was all made possible by Matthew Larcome and the team at B2B Expos, who’ve been running events like this across the South and Midlands for over a decade.
“This is our second event in Farnborough this year, and it’s been an absolute success”, said Matthew.
“We’ve had just under 400 people attend for a four-hour event. Lots of people networking, enjoying it, and there’s a real buzz in the room which people are bouncing off from.
“What’s really good is that it doesn’t matter who you are or what business you’re in, you can come along, network, make new connections, and also be inspired to grow your business.
“We’ve done this event for seven years, but every year it gets bigger and bigger. It’s one of our most popular expos.”
So much so that Matthew is planning to launch in Camberley next year and reach more businesses in North Hampshire.
Before that, they’ll be back in the county this November for Southampton Business Expo, with events also lined up for Portsmouth and Basingstoke in 2024.
This year’s Farnborough Expo was sponsored by Hampshire Chamber, Ribbons Network, Printer Graphics, Rushmoor Borough Council, Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, FSB and Village Hotels.
