Barratt Homes, the sustainable housebuilder, has signed up as a sponsor for three important events in Hampshire to highlight its commitment to protecting the environment.
The developer, which is building eco-friendly homes across the county, is sponsoring the ‘Sustainable Development Project’ category at the South Coast Property Awards, the ‘Sustainable Green Investment Award’ at the Hampshire Business Awards, and is also Ambassador for this year’s Big Sustainability Awards.
This support aims to emphasise the business’ dedication to sustainability, as the housebuilder aims to be the leading national sustainable housebuilder, ensuring its Building Sustainably Framework is deeply rooted in every business decision and day-to-day action it takes.
James Dunne, Barratt Homes Managing Director, Southampton Division, said: “It’s critical that more organisations take steps to become more sustainable, and these three events will be highlighting the big players in that regard.
“At Barratt Homes sustainability is a top priority and we’re delighted to offer our support where we can.”
Both the South Coast Property Awards and the Hampshire Business Awards are organised by the Business Magazine, and Barratt will be sponsoring one of the award categories at each event.
The South Coast Property Awards’ ‘Sustainable Development Project’ prize will go to a ‘green building’ in the region and will be awarded to a property which promotes energy efficiency, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and minimises the environmental impact.
The Hampshire Business Awards’ ‘Sustainable Green Investment Award’ recognises businesses that have demonstrated a strong commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility through their investment strategies.
The Big Sustainability Awards are organised by the Southern Sustainability Partnership, and, bringing together hundreds of professionals across the UK, will be rewarding the best sustainable practice in a commercial setting. For the second year running, Barratt Homes has signed up as Ambassador.
James added: “We are looking forward to winners being announced at each ceremony later in the year.”
This year’s South Coast Property Awards will take place on Thursday 6th June at the Hilton Southampton, Utilita Bowl; the Big Sustainability Awards on 26th September at the Leonardo Hotel, Southampton; and the Hampshire Business Awards on Thursday 21st November at Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre.
Barratt Homes are building new homes across the region. For more information on its new developments, visit: Harbour Place and Pebble Walk.
