Staff at the Solent offices of accountancy firm Azets have been busy collecting items for local foodbanks in the run-up to Christmas.
The Winchester team are backing Winchester Basics Bank, which provides emergency food and clothing and is available for all people in the city and surrounding area.
Meanwhile, Azets Southampton has got behind the Southampton Street Seva Winter Charity Drive, which distributes hot, freshly prepared meals and care kits filled with essential items and winter supplies to those in the city who are homeless and hungry.
Assistant tax manager Rohit Ghai is volunteering with Southampton Street Seva on Christmas Eve to help deliver essentials to those most in need.
Associate Beth Wybrow, engagement champion for Azets’ Winchester and Southampton offices, said: “The reason we do this is to give a little back to some of the most vulnerable people living in the community we serve at Christmas.”
Elsewhere in the county, the Portsmouth and Havant offices have donated Christmas food essentials to the One Church Foundation Christmas Campaign.
The Emsworth church’s seasonal campaign has helped hundreds of families in need every year since 2020, with support from local councils, churches, schools and the Emsworth Alliance.
Dom Currie, Azets associate director in Portsmouth, said: “The One Church Foundation does sterling work in directly targeting those who need help most.
“We had no hesitation in supporting their impressive Christmas campaign.”
