Aspiring business leaders can now gain crucial AI skills through a free AI Skills Bootcamp, designed to support careers in artificial intelligence (AI).
The course, backed by the Solent Growth Partnership, aims to help participants prepare for leadership roles in a field undergoing rapid transformation.
Rachael Randall, Chair of the Solent Growth Partnership’s Business Board, commented: “AI is a fast-growing industry, creating new opportunities for those with the right skills.
“Our free 16-day AI Skills Bootcamp offers participants a comprehensive understanding of AI, its benefits, and its ethical challenges. This is a great opportunity to develop AI leadership skills, and we invite anyone interested in this technology to join us.”
The programme, set to take place at Portsmouth University, will run from 18 November 2024 to 28 March 2025. It is open to individuals looking to strengthen their knowledge in AI leadership, including machine learning techniques, AI frameworks, and the application of AI across sectors like engineering, healthcare, and agriculture.
In addition to gaining hands-on experience with AI tools, participants will develop leadership skills needed to drive AI initiatives within their organisations. The bootcamp includes 100 hours of guided learning, delivered both in-person and online.
Professor Sercan Ozcan, from the University of Portsmouth, said: “Our experience in delivering AI and digital leadership programmes ensures that our graduates are well-prepared to meet the challenges of AI integration in the workplace. We are excited to partner with Solent Partners to empower individuals with the skills they need to succeed in AI leadership roles.”
The programme includes access to leading university and industry experts, projects to test progress, and employability support such as CV preparation and job fair access. Additionally, participants will receive recruitment expertise in STEM, connecting them with a wide range of employers.
