This year marks the seventh anniversary for EV charging network InstaVolt, and it’s been one of their busiest yet.
The Basingstoke firm has taken the opportunity to build upon existing sites – doubling the size of their Banbury charging hub – as well as laying out plans for expansion, including an upcoming Super Hub just off the A34 at Winchester.
Supported by a combination of solar, battery and grid power, and with amenities such as food, drink and toilets, the site would be their largest hub to date.
InstaVolt has also been looking further afield in recent months with the launch of two sites in Iceland, another in Northern Ireland, and further plans for Spain and Portugal in the new year.
“We’re growing the network all the time”, said CEO Adrian Keen.
“We’re now at over 1,350 chargers, making InstaVolt the largest EV charging network in the UK.
“Record numbers of UK drivers are deciding to make the switch to EVs. As a business we’re committed to improving the charging experience for customers, with plans to install 10,000 chargers by 2030.
“And we’re proud to be part of this green revolution.”
Over the past year alone, the company has created more than 130 million emission-free miles, with even more ambitious targets for the future.
