HWB Chartered Accountants has raised more than £8,500 for its chosen charity, Mountbatten Hampshire, through a calendar of activities.

Caitlyn Sherry, corporate partnership manager for Mountbatten Hampshire, was on hand to receive a giant cheque at the HWB office in Chandlers Ford.

Tracy JenkinsTracy Jenkins, managing director of HWB, said: “Mountbatten Hampshire is dedicated to providing care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses.

“We were delighted to be able to offer our support to such a worthwhile and crucial charity.

“The county’s oldest and largest hospice, it’s served the community for more than 45 years and is currently supporting around 1,000 families every day.”

Caitlyn added: “Mountbatten Hampshire is deeply grateful for the unwavering support of HWB Accountants.

“Over the years, the firm has gone above and beyond, raising an incredible £8,592.20.

“Support from organisations like HWB ensures Mountbatten can deliver 24/7 expert care and support to people experiencing death, dying and bereavement.

“This gives patients and their families choices about the care they receive, providing the highest quality nursing, medical and therapeutic care within our West End hospice and in people’s homes.”

Accountant Matt Cooper, one of HWB’s associate directors, overcame his fear of heights by undertaking a skydive to raise £2,415 for the charity as he took the plunge from 15,000 feet over Old Sarum in Wiltshire.

The cause was particularly significant for audit and accounts specialist Matt, as both his parents have been undergoing treatment for cancer for several years.
